In Tim's own words

I've been an Oxford resident for 10 years, having lived in both Rose Hill and Iffley Fields. I am a regular cyclist (hence the photo)!, and a bus user and very rarely drive owing to a mild disability.

I am campaigning on five issues:

1. Stopping the LTN’s / Traffic filters to allow more bike / bus provision and parking. - Much prefer better cycling / bus provision is key here - e.g. Bike racks, Bike and Bus shelters (have an ongoing wager that there isn't a single public bike shelter in Littlemore and Rose Hill), and removing potholes (have reported around 250 over the years). Stopping / removing LTN's (specifically the Crowell road one on the way to Temple Cowley) frees up a lot of funding for better ideas. I'm passionate on tackling the climate emergency, but we shouldn't do this by punishing motorists - let's make Oxford a lovely place for ALL road users.

2. More local amenities - Specifically a new GP’s surgery for Littlemore (which helps Rose Hill too). With the new developments going on, there should be better amenities and infrastructure put in FIRST (e.g. with the new houses behind the George Inn, and the Railway lane development).

3. More / Better street lighting - More of an issue in Littlemore, but currently the lights are not bright enough and they could be more efficient (e.g. through better LED's).

4. Better bin services - Specifically higher recycling rates - Oxford City is amongst the lowest in Oxfordshire and I'm passionate about changing that. Making the Green bin the recycling bin may help that, but I also want to educate Houses of Multiple Occupation better on using them. Oh, and some more public recycling bins around Rose Hill shops and Littlemore generally wouldn't go amiss. With people going across to the Kassam stadium: sometimes there is litter, and we can improve that by providing more recycling bins.

5. Council tax freeze (county and city) - City council tax is MORE THAN DOUBLE in Oxford than Witney and Henley. I'm the only candidate offering this and the Lib / Lab / Green coalition have just increased County council tax. During a cost of living crisis, councils shouldn't be spending more and more money and council tax shouldn't go up and up and up. Instead

If you agree with any of those issues...? Then vote for me! The City council is over 70% Labour and the County is run by Lib Dems, Labour, and the Greens – vote for something different.
