In Andrew's own words

I am standing as an independent candidate to be one of the three Councillors for Blackwall & Cubitt Town ward in Tower Hamlets

I believe based on the 2022 local election results that I am the only candidate who can beat the 3 Aspire Councillor candidates and ensure that there is some opposition left in Tower Hamlets as my concern this May is to avoid an Aspire landslide win which would be bad for all of us including even Aspire

How am I qualified to be one of your three Councillors?

Do an an internet search for ’andrew wood tower hamlets’ to find out more about me

Experience – I was the Councillor for the neighbouring Canary Wharf ward from 2014 to 2022, but I did a lot of work in Blackwall & Cubitt Town ward as well then

Since 2023 I have worked in senior finance roles for two other London Councils

I am a qualified accountant (CIMA), former secondary school governor and former Chair of the Royal London Hospital patient panel

I have lived on Westferry Road on the island since 2009

Hard work – the only thing I can guarantee is that I will work hard on your behalf, see my social media for evidence of that

Knowledge – I know a lot about the area, local politics and the problems we face

Passion – I do this because I am passionate about better government for this area

Because I can win – this May the most likely election outcome is an Aspire landslide, that won’t be good for everybody including Aspire, I am the only person who can beat Aspire for at least one of the three Councilors positions

What will I do if elected as one of your three Councillor's

A reminder that in Tower Hamlets, only the Executive Mayor has power due to the previous referendum votes

The main job of Councillor's is to scrutinize the Mayor, sit on Committees, and to represent their residents

BUT there are things that Councillor's can do if they push hard which my next leaflet will illustrate but here are a few examples:

Restart the Safer Neighbourwood ward Panel so that residents, the Council and Police can meet on a regular basis to talk about local crime and ASB

Push the

Ensure we get a good deal from the redevelopment of Billingsgate Fish Market, ASDA and many other development sites + ensure less construction damage

As we meet in person let me know what else I can do

Is this you?
