Green Party candidate for Bingley

Green Party

I hope the people of Bingley West will place their trust in me to continue working hard for our community—standing up for local residents, protecting vital services, and ensuring investment reaches the areas that need it most. Bingley West has faced real challenges in recent years: pressure on local services, threats to our green belt and the rising cost of living impacting families and businesses alike. Our green belt isn’t just land—it’s part of what makes Bingley West special. I will always stand up to protect it from inappropriate development, as I have for over a decade. Families are being stretched to their limits. People are working hard and still struggling—that’s not right and it’s why supporting residents through the cost-of-living crisis is one of my top priorities. I believe strong, experienced local leadership is essential to ensure our area gets its fair share and that decisions are made with residents, not for them. Too often, decisions are made far away from the people they affect. I will make sure Bingley West has a strong voice at the table. I have a proven record of delivering for our communities and am committed to building on that work fighting for better services, stronger neighbourhoods and a fairer future for all. I am an experienced local politician who has previously served as a councillor on Bradford Council. With a strong background in community and public service, I have also contributed beyond local government; I served within the NHS as a public governor representing the Bingley area, I spent seven years as a board member of Manningham Housing Association, seven years as the Vice Chair of Bradford District Credit Union and am a resident panel member for the Housing Ombudsman Service. I’ve worked closely with local organisations and residents for years so I understand both the challenges we face and the practical solutions that can make a difference. I actively support local organisations including credit unions and housing associations, helping strengthen communities and provide practical support where it matters most. I’m driven by a commitment to fairness, community wellbeing and ensuring local voices are heard. Whether it’s protecting services, supporting families or investing in our area, my focus is always on what matters most to local people. My priorities include: • Protecting and improving public services • Supporting families through the cost-of-living crisis • Investing in community infrastructure and housing • Ensuring Bingley West receives fair funding and attention I believe in practical, community-focused politics that delivers real results. I bring years of experience in both politics and community leadership: • Former Bradford Council councillor • NHS public governor for Bingley Rural • Vice Chair of Bradford District Credit Union • Board member of Manningham Housing Association Experience means understanding how to get things done. I will use that experience to deliver real improvements for Bingley West. I have also previously stood in local elections in the Bingley area, demonstrating my ongoing commitment to representing local people. With every seat on Bradford Council up for election, your vote will help shape the future of Bingley West. This election is about the future of our community, protecting what matters and making sure no one is left behind. A vote for me is a vote for strong, experienced local leadership.
