Tricia’s experience in social care and youth work as well her extensive involvement with the voluntary sector, and within commissioning, have given her a real insight into a wide range of council matters. She brings her experience as a senior manager and former CEO of a children’s charity and has been able to utilise these skills and experiences enhance her decision making and enable her to represent her residents. Tricia is a keen activist, starting up a campaign to keep the Shoeburyness Ambulance station fully operational, campaigning with local residents to protect our trees and biodiversity and to improve bus services. She has previously been an elected councillor, sitting in a number of committees and chairing the People Scrutiny committee, facilitating special projects, including one around improving outcomes for children with SEND and their families. Tricia has been a member of the East Beach Resident's Association as well as the Shoebury Society and local U3A and has a good understanding of the issues facing Shoeburyness residents. She states: 'I know the deep problems that this ward faces, but also the many opportunities it offers. I want to see those opportunities available to all, and a community which values and encourages everyone”.
