In James's own words

I’m standing to represent St Luke’s because local government should be about delivery, responsibility and protecting what matters to our community.

This election is about who will make practical decisions on housing, public services, neighbourhood safety and the future direction of our city. It is about steady leadership - not protest politics.

In Southend, Labour made five fully funded local pledges at the last election - and delivered all five. That record shows that when we make commitments locally, we keep them.

As a constituency resident and Digital Infrastructure Engineer, I believe in careful planning, responsible finances and public services that work for everyone. I want Southend to continue investing in our communities, protecting essential services and planning for long-term prosperity - not returning to short-term cuts or divisive politics.

With major changes ahead, including new regional powers and local government reorganisation, St Luke’s needs strong, sensible representation focused on stability, fairness and real-world delivery.

My commitment is simple:

Work hard. Protect local services. Deliver for St Luke’s.

Let’s keep building a city we can be proud of.
