In Malla's own words

I’m standing as your Labour and Co-operative Party candidate in the May 2026 local elections because I believe our community deserves a council that works with people, not just for them.

I moved to the UK 22 years ago and to Southend in 2022, where my family and I now call home. My children attend local schools, so I understand firsthand the importance of strong public services, safe neighbourhoods, and opportunities for young people.

Professionally, I work as an IT consultant, bringing problem-solving skills and a practical approach to delivering results. Alongside this, I’ve been actively involved in our community—raising funds for Havens Hospices, supporting local initiatives, and distributing free books to our local library to encourage reading and learning.

I believe in being proactive and stepping up where help is needed. Whether it’s supporting local causes or working with residents to solve issues, I am committed to making a positive difference.

As a Labour and Co-operative candidate, I stand for fairness, community, and working together. If elected, I will:

• Be a visible, approachable, and accountable local councillor

Most importantly, I will listen to residents, take action, and stand up for our community.

I would be honoured to have your support.
