In Paul's own words

Paul who held office with Trafford Council as a ward councillor between 2012 – 2021 was selected by local party members and therefore has been elected as the Chairman of Stretford and Urmston Constituency Conservative Association for 2025-26.

His previous community experience includes securing National Lottery funding for the Friends of Flixton Gardens. Helping the L&Q group, formerly THT with a community tree planting programme.

He has previously held roles as a nominated governor at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and also the Greater Manchester Waste Committee. Alongside serving as a LEA Governor for 12 years.

Paul is married with two teenage children and currently works as a Social Researcher.

Commenting on being elected, Paul said “I would like to thank everyone from the Association who supported me for the position.

"I would also like to pay tribute to the outgoing Chairman, Jonathan Coupe who led the association with distinction through some difficult years.

“My priorities for the Association are engaging all our local residents to help them have both an informed and robust choice of voting options. Every resident should be up-to-date with our local team and the activities we are undertaking.

"Personally, it is embarrassing that our roads and pavements are such a state of disrepair. I am insulted by the staggering increase of 7.49% Council Tax, and the avoidance of a local referendum that policy should have triggered. As well as, at that same time having a Green Bin Tax costing every household at least £45 per year.

"And therefore, a strong focus will be given to holding to account the local Labour Party and its continued failure to provide value for money for us, as residents of Trafford.
