In Chanté's own words

**About Chanté Johnson**

My name is Chante, I am a daughter, sister, very proud auntie and loyal friend, London has been a constant in my life and my love for its ecosystem has only grown, the ability to find community no matter who you are or what you’re looking for, you can find it here.

I have worked service jobs to remote jobs making me no stranger to hard work. Politics has been another constant as a young black woman it seems intrinsically linked to my identity leading me to write my university dissertation on black hair and all that it means. Seeking out opportunities such as volunteering for organisations such as our streets now, even going vegan.

I am always looking for ways to better, make a difference and most importantly to help.

**What Chanté stands for**

I am standing for Markhouse because this is how we make the positive change we desperately need. It’s normal everyday people stepping forward and stepping up to help the local community in whichever way we can. I want to speak up for people who no longer feel heard, to put the needs of my community first. I can use my knowledge and capabilities to fight for what is right and what is fair, to challenge and change the status quo that keeps our cost of living far too high.

I have (as I suspect we all have) watched from the sidelines and felt the hopelessness at watching our country go down a path of decisiveness and what seems like never ending crisis. So, I am saying let’s all step forward and step up and choose hope, lets elect Greens! and create the change we want to see.
