At the time, I was working freelance in the Czech Republic and was devastated at the prospect of having my EU citizenship, and my right to live and work across Europe, taken away. The Liberal Democrats were the only party prepared to speak up clearly and consistently, and that commitment to openness, fairness and internationalism is what keeps me involved today. I’m currently Vice-Chair of Waltham Forest Liberal Democrats and previously served as Vice-Chair in Islington. While living in Islington, I worked for a homeless charity during the COVID pandemic and I continue to volunteer with them today.”
