In Kath's own words

I’ve lived in Walthamstow for the past five years and am actively involved in the local community through my work with the Liberal Democrats, supporting campaigns that stand up for residents and neighbourhoods.

I joined the Liberal Democrats in 2016 because of the party’s clear stance on Brexit. At the time, I was working freelance in the Czech Republic and was devastated at the prospect of having my EU citizenship, and my right to live and work across Europe, taken away. The Liberal Democrats were the only party prepared to speak up clearly and consistently, and that commitment to openness, fairness and internationalism is what keeps me involved today. I’m currently Vice-Chair of Waltham Forest Liberal Democrats and previously served as Vice-Chair in Islington. While living in Islington, I worked for a homeless charity during the COVID pandemic and I continue to volunteer with them today.

Professionally, I work in film & TV as a sound editor and re-recording mixer. My work demands precision, collaboration and delivering results on time and on budget. These are skills I would bring to holding the Council to account and ensuring residents’ money is spent responsibly.

As a councillor, my priorities would reflect the Liberal Democrats’ “Six to Fix”: protecting local health services, tackling the housing crisis, making our streets safer, fixing roads and pavements, defending our environment, and improving waste and recycling services. I’m committed to being an approachable, hardworking councillor who listens and delivers for our community.
