In Layla's own words

**About Layla Rosa**

I have been a resident of Waltham forest for 16 years, raising my 2 sons and working as an artist and educator. My work in the borough includes; running the Walthamstow Youth Circus (founded in 2014), leading cross sector collaborations across arts, education, well – being and environment to create participatory performance and working with Forest Community land Trust towards sustainable housing and community spaces.

We have witnessed the social, economic and environmental challenges in our time here and recognised the strength of our community and local grass roots organisations coming together to navigate them.

**What Layla Stands For**

I believe in coalition building, that together we are stronger and that social and environmental justice are inextricably linked. I stand now to support the work of coming together to take care of each other and our planet and so the voices of ordinary people are represented in politics.

I will work with the community and grass roots organisations towards greater community cohesion; securing community hubs across our borough that are accessible for all. I will work to create safer streets, opportunities for young people, in support of a fairer food system and to give rights to nature.
