In David's own words

I have lived and worked in Wigan for 20 years and have been a resident of Douglas Ward for the past 2. I work in alcohol/drug/mental health services in Wigan & Leigh and have a neurodivergent child who has struggled through the local SEN provision. I know first hand how Wigan doesn’t always work for some of it’s residents and I am passionate about changing that. I am also passionate about making Wigan a better place to live, we desperately need more social housing rather than unaffordable new builds eating up our wonderful green spaces and we need better more joined up healthcare, transport and planning so all Wigan residents regardless of age or wealth can flourish, prosper and lead a happier life. This kind of change starts locally so local issues will always be my first priority.
