Hau-Yu Tam
Green Party councillor for Deptford
Council: Lewisham
Term ends: 2 May 2030
Hau-Yu was the first London councillor to defect to the Greens in 2025, after facing political persecution for standing up for Palestine. She saw up close Labour’s embrace of racism, fascism, and transphobia – growth with zero wellbeing or social justice indicators, fuelling genocide and war. The Greens stood by her, and now she’s fighting back against those injustices. As an anti-oppression campaigner, Hau-Yu cares about protecting and empowering our communities. She’ll listen to you and fight to support Deptford. We’re in this together. Her family are migrants from Hong Kong, China and Malaysia – some have lived in Lewisham since the 90s. This campaign is for all of us.
