Green Party councillor for Ancoats & Beswick

Active on State

Term started: 7 May 2026

Green Party

I'm the Green councillor for Ancoats and Beswick. I live and work across east and south Manchester, so this isn't an abstract patch on a map to me. It's where I know the streets, the people and the issues firsthand. My job, as I see it, is to show up. That means listening to what residents actually raise on their doorsteps and in their emails, and then doing something about it. A lot of my week goes on casework: housing, anti-social behaviour, the everyday things that make or break how it feels to live here. At the council I chair the Economy Scrutiny Committee, which holds decisions on jobs, skills, transport and the local economy up to proper examination. I push for those decisions to be tested against one question: what does this actually mean for residents and for the people in our ward. Outside the council I work as a mediator and I champion for greater access to justice for all. I'm passionate about my community group volunteering and supporting local small businesses. If something in the ward needs raising, get in touch. That's what I'm here for.
