Lubna Arshad

Labour councillor for Blackbird Leys

Council: Oxford

Term started: 7 May 2026

Labour

Born and bred here in Oxford, raising two young children, and fighting for our community every day. I’ve served as a City Councillor for over 7 years and as Cabinet Member for a Safer Oxford for over 2 years, tackling the issues that matter most to local families. I’ve delivered safer streets, pushed for better housing and green spaces, and fought crime and anti-social behaviour alongside Thames Valley Police. Blackbird Leys deserves respect, not to be left behind. If you want a councillor who shows up, stands up and gets things done, I’m asking for your vote on 7th May. Blackbird Leys first. Every street matters. Every family counts. Keep in touch In Blackbird Leys, families are doing everything right working, raising children, contributing to our community. But too many are still falling behind by rising bills, rising rents and services stretched. Please get in touch if there’s anything I can help with: lubna.labour@gmail.com.
