Liberal Democrats

I am a Liberal Democrat councillor representing Hampden Park in Eastbourne and currently serve as Deputy Mayor of Eastbourne. My background is in community development, the arts and public engagement, with more than 35 years' experience helping communities, organisations and public services work together to create positive change. I believe that the best solutions are developed by listening to local people and building on the strengths that already exist within our communities. Alongside my ward work, I am the council's Champion for Women and Girls' Rights, Equality, Disability and Mental Health. These roles reflect my commitment to creating communities that are safe, inclusive and accessible for everyone. I have a particular interest in tackling violence against women and girls, improving accessibility, supporting good mental health and ensuring that residents' voices are heard in local decision-making. I serve on Planning and Licensing Committees and have a strong interest in good governance, transparency and ensuring public money is used effectively. Outside the council, I run Creative Edge Consulting, working with charities, councils and community organisations on community engagement, co-production and organisational development. I also founded Creative Force CIC, a community interest company that delivers creative projects to bring people together, celebrate local heritage and strengthen neighbourhoods. Having grown up in Eastbourne, I care deeply about the town and its future. Whether I'm supporting an individual resident, working with local organisations or representing Eastbourne at civic events, my aim is always the same: to help build stronger, more connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
