Mandate First Aid & mental wellbeing training for all school staff
I would like the Government to change the law to make it a statutory requirement for all school employees (teaching, non-teaching & support staff) to be trained in emergency first aid and mental wellbeing.
Fund more training for teachers to support children with SEN
There should be more funding for more training and awareness around children with special educational needs. We believe there is a lack of understanding around special needs, and therefore a lack of understanding on how to support these children.
Require mental health training for all HR staff, managers and directors
Introduce mandatory mental health training for all HR staff, managers and directors. Ensure the training is comprehensive, realistic and meaningful; to learn what it is like for an employee with a condition to work, struggle and cope within a workplace.
Require 3-month SEN school placements for all trainee teachers
I want the Government to require all trainee teachers to complete a 3-month placement in Special Educational Needs schools so they can understand neurodiverse children, learn strategies to support them, and ensure every child can thrive in mainstream education.
Mandate trauma-informed training in justice, healthcare, education & social care
Introduce legislation to require professional bodies to include accredited trauma-informed training as a mandatory requirement for professionals in justice, healthcare, education & social care. Embed into standards, inspections & safeguarding frameworks to ensure consistent understanding of trauma.
