Stop the deduction of Carers Allowance from the carers Universal Credit award, it shouldn’t be treated as an income.

End the practice of combining couples' Universal Credit into a single payment
Change how couples payments work to protect people who are in a relationship with an abusive partner. Currently Universal Credit pays couples into one account rather than two separate accounts. This can enable more abuse as the victim wouldn't be able to easily and safely escape an abusive partner
Exempt Carer’s Allowance in benefit calculations
The Government should ensure carers do not become ineligible for benefits exempting Carer’s Allowance when calculating council tax reductions and other benefit entitlements.
Increase full-time Carer's Allowance to at least £840 per week
We want the government to increase the Carer’s Allowance to at least £840 per week. We believe carers should be valued within society & their worth should be reflected in the help and benefits they receive. Carers can receive £83.30 a week however they must provide care for at least 35 hours a week
Change Universal Credit so second parent earnings don't affect family’s payment
We want the Government to change Universal Credit so that any earnings of a second parent in a couple do not reduce the overall family’s payment. The current policy discourages people from taking up work.
Increase the Carer’s Allowance to equal 35 hours at minimum wage
I want the Government to appreciate unpaid carers who can’t work and to increase the Carer’s Allowance so it equals the minimum wage. Many unpaid carers are only paid around £333 a month for a minimum 140 hours care every 4 weeks, which works out around £2.50 an hour.
