Your Party candidate for Davenport & Cale Green
“My name is Ashley Walker, my pronouns are he/him, and I am a working-class gay man born in Stockport. I am a member of several local organisations working for equality and against austerity. I am a socialist and am also a member of the International Socialist League.”
“As a working-class man born in Stockport, I have seen how austerity has destroyed, and is destroying, our schools, our health services, our youth services and so much more.”
“My life has taught me how we live in a society that benefits the rich and powerful far more than it ever benefits the rest of us. We need to fundamentally change society so it works for everyone not just the rich and powerful.”
“However, we need to be clear the current political parties will never do this on their own, it is only by communities of working-class people and their allies coming together and building our own movements and organisations that we can make this happen.”
“The type of MP I will be ”
“My core priority will be working with the people of Stockport day in and day out to help make Stockport a better place for us all. Not playing the endless games of Westminster politics.”
“If I am elected, I will accept a wage that is no more than the average for a worker in Britain and accept no payments other than actual expenses incurred on carrying out MP duties. All other pay usually received by an MP will go towards the benefit of the people of Stockport. I will work no job other than that of an MP.”
“I am firmly committed to helping to defeating all cuts and attacks on working class people, helping to achieve equality for all and to building a working-class party for socialism.”
“Only together can we improve our lives and future!”
