Standing for re-election as Labour Councillor for Caledonian Ward, which I have represented since May 2006. I am a proud Scot and Londoner. I came to Islington in 1979 and have lived with my family (incl two teenage boys) in Cally for 30 years. Every year since 2010 I have taken the lead Councillor role organising the Cally Festival, Islington's largest street festival. At the Town Hall, I now chair the Audit & Risk committee and have led Islington’s pension investment committee for six years making our Pension Fund one of the most ethical local government schemes. I am also the chair of governors at Robert Blair primary school and a governor of New River College, Islington's pupil referral unit. I am an Arsenal supporter and a fan of 1970s soul music.
