In Ijaz's own words

**About Ijaz Kato**

Walthamstow for me has always been my anchor for who I am. Having been born in Whipps Cross, I’ve lived in D.C., Singapore and Bristol before coming back permanently to Walthamstow and have lived here for 5 years. I’ve always travelled back to Walthamstow as I’ve seen it as my home, and want to do what I feel it’s done for me for most of my life, make Walthamstow a home for everyone.

I work in the Film and TV industry as a Production Co-ordinator and run my own film distribution company! I also help volunteer at Rukshana Khan Foundation.

**What Ijaz stands for**

For me, the biggest issues are in relation to accessibility, in terms of disabled access along with accessibility to services like garbage cleaning. Creating green spaces, clearer air and effictive services for those who need it.

Flytipping especially is an issue that I feel needs to be solved to make the streets a more welcoming and habitable place. Along with this, as a filmmaker, providing artistic opportunities for young people can provide a great outlet not currently being provided to children.
