Green Party councillor for Gipsy Hill
Active on State
Term started: 7 May 2026
Pete is an active local campaigner on issues facing Gipsy Hill. He has championed residents of Central Hill Estate where he lived for 7 years. As a Lambeth councillor from 2018 - 2022 he helped get London’s first Climate Emergency motion passed, campaigned to ban glyphosate weedkiller, pressed for divestment from fossil fuels and for better air pollution monitoring and action in the borough. Pete is an engineer and project manager who spent 22 years in the military and a further 10 years working for Central Government. Throughout this time he has seen how money is wasted by the Tory and Labour governments. He’s appalled at the savagery and inhumanity of the Palestine conflict. He supports the Green Party’s call for fair treatment of migrants and refugees and will drive for fairness and equality in all decisions. Pete says “Labour have effectively bankrupted Lambeth Council. Much needed services are being forced to shut and residents who depend on these services the most, are effectively being forced away from their homes and communities. Schools are closing and the gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots' is widening. We need to open Lambeth's books and ensure that decisions are made transparently and that lessons are learned from past mistakes" "Elections over the last 10 years have shown us that Gipsy Hill will be a straight fight between Labour and The Green Party. We need more opposition councillors to hold Labour to account. Vote Green to press for real meaningful change for all of us and our future generations.”
