Following concerns raised by residents about dangerous parking on Chester Road, particularly where vehicles were mounting the pavement and putting pedestrians at risk, I worked with Cllr Fiona Miller to press the council for action. After raising these concerns and requesting safety improvements, the council agreed to install 16 safety bollards at the junction in August. These measures will help prevent vehicles from obstructing the pavement and make the area safer for pedestrians, wheelchair users and families with pushchairs. Listening to residents and securing practical improvements like these is an important part of representing our community, and I will continue working to improve road safety across Barnes & Thornhill.

For over two years, I worked alongside residents, local campaigners and fellow councillors to improve accessibility in Barnes Park so that every child has the opportunity to play, regardless of their abilities. I'm proud that this work has led to the installation of two new wheelchair-accessible play facilities: a wheelchair-accessible roundabout and a wheelchair-accessible seesaw. These additions allow children with mobility needs to enjoy the park alongside their friends and families in a more inclusive environment. This project was made possible through partnership working, and I'd like to thank Cllr Fiona Tobin, Cllr Comer for their support in helping bring these improvements to life. I'll continue working to make Barnes & Thornhill a more accessible, inclusive and welcoming place for everyone.
