Require employers to implement medical advice on workplace adjustments

National
·65 reactions·100% agree

Employers do not have to implement GP and Occupational Health advice on workplace adjustments if it is not "reasonable", leaving disabled and unwell workers unprotected. We call for a law requiring employers to follow medical recommendations unless they can prove it’s objectively impossible.

Legally require employers to publish staff disability numbers

The government should require all companies and organisations with employees to disclose the number of disabled individuals they employ, categorised by disability and job type.

Require employers give employees 3 months sick pay when cancer is diagnosed

I want the government to have a policy in place to help all cancer patients financially. I feel that for the first couple of months, cancer patients need to focus on their diagnosis. Having 3 months of full sick pay in place could allow them to focus on what they are dealing with.

Require all employers to include parental leave policies in job listings

Require all employers to include parental leave policies clearly in job listings. Some studies show only a small percentage currently do so. Making it a legal requirement could help ensure fair access to information. We believe without it, discrimination, unfair withdrawal of offers could result.

Require all employers to provide contractual sick pay on top of SSP

Make it a legal requirement for all employers to offer enhanced sick pay on top of Statutory Sick Pay. This should guarantee at least partial pay for the full duration of sickness, so workers aren’t - in our view - financially punished for being unwell.

Require employers to give employees a paid day of leave on their birthday

I believe that no one should ever have to work on their birthday. I ask the government to consider requiring employers to give employees a paid day of leave on their birthday.
